Letter to counties across America for measures at events & other high risk community settings.

Sir or Madam,
We are writing to you today to urge measures be put in place for large events, schools, transit and essential shops to contain and reduce spread of covid across America.
Because of the ongoing pandemic of covid-19, the risk to every American, the elevated risk for people with an existing condition, low immune system, over the age of 50, children, the disabled or suffering from long covid and the lack of a fully effective & long lasting vaccine. We ask that public health please issue a request to require masks at all large events and also be present at such events with masks & information on hand for anyone who may not have a mask or knowledge of risks involved. We also request a limit to the number attending such events and do testing as everyone arrives at specific points.
For schools, we ask masking be required as well as daily screening with mandatory testing done every few weeks. We also ask for mask requirements in essential shops with capacity limited at busy times and on all mass transit. The rise in illness this winter shows how masking worked in schools and in the greater community when it was required.
The Pandemic is serious and widespread, hospitals are overcrowded, staff overworked and many thousands of people are infected and developing serious long term conditions due to covid and hundreds are dying each day from this preventable illness. Events were not allowed in many places because of the high risk to the community and attendees. We need measures if events are to be held in person. Schools were closed, then opened with masks to make it possible.
Please require masks and other measures for the safety of all as more and more events take place in the months and years to come.
