Request for a Mask Requirement in Winnipeg's Schools.

Good morning,
I am writing to request the board require everyone to wear a mask in schools for several weeks as a safety measure after the return from the upcoming & future extended breaks. We need to do something to protect all students and staff to keep them healthy and safe from covid-19 or any other virus they may have contracted during the time away from school. (e.g. travel, gatherings, shopping or events)
In America, cities including Philadelphia and Boston have put in a two week measure or policy after Christmas and summer breaks to prevent a rise in illness and transmission. As this pandemic continues, we need measures to reduce the chances of getting covid and prevent development of long term covid which leads to a wide range of conditions that cause a disability and in severe cases causes a heart attack, stroke, admission to hospital or death.
Please require everyone on school property to wear a mask for several weeks after returning from each school break. Please take this action to help students and staff safe, reduce transmission in the community and support healthcare workers.
